Project Update:

April 18th, 2018

The rock layer for the roadway was placed this week along with most of the topsoil on the slopes.  Crews also worked on the stretches of roadway on the upper and lower limits of the repair section, grinding the existing surface and making spot repairs in preparation for paving.  Next week the curb and gutter will be installed.  The wet weather and excessive ground moisture continues to have an impact on schedule. The "open to traffic" date is trending toward the first week in May.  (The photo above was taken 4/02/18.)

Project Summary:

The 212th Way SE project is a repair and rehabilitation project to stabilize the road embankment.  The section requiring stabilization is approximately 2,800 feet in length starting near 212th Ave SE at the top of the hill and extending southwest.

The project includes a full reconstruction of the road through the embankment stabilization section - including two travel lanes, paved shoulders, curb and gutter, a storm water system.  The remaining 1,400 feet length between East Lake Sammamish Parkway and stabilization portion will not be reconstructed but will receive a new pavement surface and new guardrail.
