The Communications Manager is a hands-on, highly strategic adviser who understands how to best craft and deliver nuanced messages to support the City’s goals and programs. Under the general direction of the City Manager’s Office, this position is responsible for creating, overseeing, and monitoring the effectiveness of the City’s communications plan. The Communications Manager’s work includes public relations, media relations, digital media, internal and external communication, marketing, education, community-building, and outreach. This position exercises considerable discretion in making decisions about operational issues, anticipating and resolving emergency situations, and ensuring the City’s public-information program is aligned with the City’s overall mission and brand.
Works under the general supervision and direction of the City Manager. The position requires a high degree of independent judgment, initiative, and discretion. Oversees contracted communications positions, including the Social Media Consultant.

The City of Sammamish is accepting applications for full time Maintenance Workers I in the Public Works Department.
Perform asphalt patching and cement work including but not limited to sidewalk replacement, roadways and projects, preform basic carpentry. Stormwater system maintenance, repair and installation. Maintain service and make minor repairs to equipment as needed. Remove weeds and debris from city right-of-ways and Stormwater facilities. Operates a range of equipment including but not limited to city vehicles, machinery, and a verity of hand and power tools. May perform duties of similar complexity in other maintenance areas as required or assigned. Observe and maintain established safety policies and procedures. This position is eligible to earn overtime for hours worked over forty (40) per workweek if approved in advance by a supervisor.
Sammamish Public Works Department is recruiting one (2) Maintenance Worker II position for the Public Works division.
This is a journey level position that performs general and specialized road, sidewalk, sign and marking and drainage maintenance duties on assigned city public works infrastructure and other city facilities. Operates a range of medium and heavy equipment. Provides support for special events. May perform duties of similar complexity in other maintenance areas as required or assigned. Constructs small public works capital improvement projects. Because of the small size of the city staff, each staff member is expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties at a high level as may be required from time to time.
